I got FreshlyPressed!

Just have to say.  AMAZING!  Yesterday was completely surreal.  My post “Art Born of Anger” got picked up and selected for the WordPress.com homepage, FreshlyPressed.  Nutso.

I have to say thank you to every person who took the time to look and comment on my work.  It’s overwhelming to actually get so much feedback, and to think about how my images might communicate to others.  I wish I could respond to each comment individually, but as always, life interferes, and off to work I must go.

But I will most definitely keep making these images, and as always, I’ll post some examples as they unfold.

THANKS!!!

Good Press…

…is good press, even if I can’t read it!  It was really exciting when a little over a week ago a sampling of my work was featured on the BoltArt website, which was co-founded by a friend of mine, Merve Unsal.  The site is totally in Turkish (thank god for Google Translator!) but has gotten amazing press in the states, in Art in America and the NYTimes.  Very cool stuff.  Merve wrote about my work and featured an image a day, going all the way back to some of my work from 2004, which was very cool/surreal to see it written about in contemporary context, since in my brain it’s now ancient history.  Definitely check out their site, even if you can’t read Turkish!  Tons of great images to scroll through, and if you can read it, great writing 🙂

I got profiled!!!

Super quick, but so super cool. Two of my most awesomest friends from grad school started a new blog The New Noise to profile artists working off of the beaten path, and they posted a few of my mural sized photograms this week! So cool! You should definitely check them out, because they have kinda amazing taste, if I do say so myself – ha!
